With only 30 keys, the Singer Palace is the true definition of a "boutique hotel." The property is housed within its namesake's former office building/headquarters (of the famed sewing machine brand)!

This hotel is perfect for those who enjoy their privacy and appreciate a luxurious and quiet respite from the bustling city beyond its front doors. That said, if you're looking to mingle with locals and guests alike, head to Rooftop Jim’s Bar for some of the city's best views, cocktails, and people watching.

While guest rooms have modern appointments and technology, there are plenty of classic/Roman/Italian touches and products to enjoy both with your eyes and your hands/body: (Italian) marble bathrooms, art, Ortigia Sicilia bath products, plus robes and linens.

You can rest assured knowing that the hotel's restaurant, The Terraces, will serve you one of the city's best plates of the Roman pasta "trinity" - amatriciana, carbonara, and cacio e pepe - which, for someone like myself who was in town on business without ample free time, calmed my 'FOMO nerves' from the guilt of being unable to venture far and wide to taste what the Eternal City is famous for.

My only complaints? I wish that the bathroom had a towel hook on the back of the door, and I loathe the "rain shower + handheld device combination" (but I'm probably in the minority there).

A look inside my lovely room at the Singer Palace, Rome.
